Process for Patients with Insurance

  • Every patient must present the carnet issued by the insurance company at every visit, without exception.
  • Cardio Care will contact the insurance company to validate the information and provide the service.
  • Cardio Care will provide you with a form, which must be completed and signed by the principal insured at each visit.
  • It is essential to perform a three-channel electrocardiogram (EKG), at the first consultation and once a year per process established in Cardio Care. If it is the first consultation, 100% of the EKG (Q250) is paid and Cardio Care will fill out the corresponding form for reimbursement. In the other consultations, prior authorization must be requested and what the insurance will indicate will be charged.
  • The co-payment the patient must pay for any consultation is Q.30.00 or Q.40.00 depending on what is indicated on the Panamerican Life portal + the porcentage of the ECG if needed.
  • Cardio Care will fill in the appropriate form when it’s required of: laboratories, x-rays, special diagnostic studies or medicine purchase for the authorization process.
  • For diagnostic studies that are performed at Cardio Care, the authorization will be processed internally and in cases where the diagnostic studies are performed in other diagnostic centers or laboratories, the patient must make the corresponding procedure.
  • If the insurance company does not cover the medical consultation or other diagnostic study, Cardio Care will fill you out a claim form.
