Ambulatory phlebectomy is a “Varicose vein removal surgery” that is performed for outpatients with varicose disease or “varicose veins” greater than 3mm and superficial dilated veins that don’t have complicated venous disease. It is performed under local anesthesia, through mini incisions in which varicose veins are removed.
Being an outpatient procedure, recovery requires approximately 5 days, during which a bandage is left without interrupting daily activities. The results are permanent and there is esthetically improvement over time with minimal discomfort and few or no complications.
